for a highly at areas of eastern new england. for us, we're on the southern tail of all this. still, we'll feel the effects with big wind. look at the advisories up for a significant amount of snow that's expected to fall in areas of eastern new england, around boston, massachusetts and connecticut and high winds as well so they've got the blizzard warning that's been posted areas of eastern massachusetts and connecticut. newark almost an inch. caldwell in new jersey, 3 inches of snowfall in yonkers just over 2 as well. in that pocket of boston and through areas of connecticut even, a blizzard warning where they could see a foot to upward of 2 feet of snow. here's what they're expecting up through here. again, the higher snowfall amounts, the bull's-eye right there had. we'll be on the tail end of it all. still again, it's wind for us and the storm system, again, ramping up. look at radar right now. there's the area of low pressure moving up the coast and that other little piece sweeping in to meet up with it. an area of low pressure that will really allow this system to intensify. on our radar

gives us an update on the effort. back to you. rick: dominic, i want to ask you about the weather. you said it has not been a problem now but it is expected to snow throughout the day. what do they say about the impact the snow may have on someone's ability to survive out in those elements? >> reporter: well we had two inches of snow last night. it is snowing heavily right now. we're expecting a snowstorm around 8:00 a.m. this morning. it will help the sniffer dogs. they work better in the snow conditions. it helps their nose senses and they will pick up the trail as a result of that. they don't seem the snowfall will be heavy enough to get in the way. a good sign helicopters will be up. i don't know f there equipped with thermal imaging. if they are it will help with the conditions. police say they will be able to keep up the effort. rick? rick: dominic di-natale, big bear lake. thanks. investigators investigating a manifesto posted on dorner's facebook page. he plans to bring, quote, unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in l.a.p.d. uniform. those are his words. he said he

there is a bunch of broken pottery so you know this was a used route a thousand years ago. and the arch leads down into a canyon that opens up and you go up a side canyon into this little alcove where a piece of the ceiling has fallen just slightly. and i found this place. the first time i found this was on the 27th day of a back pack and i got up to this spot and i took my hat off and i stuck my head in the crack, which is something that i do frequently out there, because i know every once in a while you're going it see something back inside one of these cracks. and back in this crack there was a basket about 1500 years old that had been turned upside down so it wouldn't collect anything and it was way back down in the crack so that no light or wind would touch it. and it was in perfect condition. you could put it on your kitchen table. you could put apples in it. and as far as i know, it's still there except for that piece which we went on this trip to collect a piece for radio carbon dating, a federal archeologist in southern utah had asked us to pick up one piece of it to bring out. so that pa
